MONIQUE JAVER ’85 - Tennis

Monique Javer '85 was a star tennis player at BHS. Besides having a stellar career in High School, which included a CCS Championship, Monique, went on to San Diego St where she was an All American and Athlete of the Year both her Freshman and Sophomore years ’86 – ’87, posting a 33-3 record. She held a #1 Ranking in USA in ’87 and was a member of the Junior Federation Cup Team.  She turned pro in ‘88 winning the WTA Singapore Open that year. Monique participated in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, competing for Great Britain where she held a #1 ranking. She competed for 10 years in all (4) Grand slam tournaments; Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open reaching the second round in each major
